Fun Facts...

• I was born and raised in the small town of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.

•  I went to college in Tennessee and married my college sweetheart.

• I'm a homeschooling mom to two cute boys and a sweet girl.

• Coffee? Yes, please.

• People almost always spell either my first or last name wrong.  

• I was an elementary school teacher for 4 years, until my oldest son was born.

• I'm an introvert and I hate being the center of attention.  But when needed, I pull out my teacher/first-born attitude to be in charge.

• Jesus is my Savior; I want to love Him and love others well, which is always a work in progress.

Why photography?  and why documentary?

I have always wanted to remember things the way they were, and I have never been very good at accepting change.  (I was the kid who cried when her parents remodeled the severely outdated kitchen and made it bigger.)  In high school, my best friend and I kept ridiculously detailed journals in a Word document about our lives with color-coded fonts so that any information would be a quick search and click away.

In some form or another, I have always tried to record things so that I could look back and remember every detail.  I've also always liked art; so using the art of photography to tell real-life stories is my happy place.
