After the video class that I took in the fall, my classmates and I were invited to join together in a family film fest where we make a family film each month for a year. (I never shared the film I made in January on my blog, but it is on my vimeo site if you want to see it.) I've gotten a little behind on the project, but I just finished my February film, which shows my family's first two months of 2016 at home. It's not perfect, but it makes me smile, so I wanted to share it. :) I hope you enjoy it too!
Williamsburg, VA - a mini vacation
We decided to take a short 2 night trip as part of Josh's vacation last week. I knew we needed to go somewhere close to make such a short trip be worthwhile, so when I found a great price on a condo in Williamsburg, we decided that's where we would go. We got to swim in an indoor pool, play miniature golf, walk around Williamsburg in 70 degree weather, eat at a couple of yummy restaurants, and the boys were able to play on 3 different, fun playgrounds. Plus we didn't have to spend all day driving getting there or coming home. :) When we got back to Stuarts Draft, it snowed 2 inches the next day....and then all of the snow melted the day after that. Virginia weather is crazy at this time of year.
So here is a not-so-brief summary of our trip in pictures. :)
March 2016 - Letters to Our Children
--After you read my letter, click the link to see Terri's letter to her children. If you keep clicking from there, eventually you'll be right back here!--
Rylan,
We're ending the month of February with you and Mason both being sick, which always makes me sad. Mason was being treated for pneumonia when you got the same high fever and cough two days later. The doctor said your ears were also both very red. So I've spent the past week doling out Amoxicillin twice a day to each of you. The one good thing about that is that you have been *very* cuddly while you've been sick. When you were a newborn, I thought you'd be our cuddly one, but you didn't end up liking to snuggle much more than Mason...which is why I'm enjoying this cuddly season so much.
You have continued to become more of a playmate for "May-mees" this last month. You are thrilled when you hear him wake up (if you happen to get up first), and he is excited to wake you up if he's the first one awake. You want to do what he does; including cooking with Mommy...which is a bit of a challenge for me. You say "Percy" if you are talking about anything having to do with Thomas (you also say "choo-choo" when you're referring to them). When you say please both in sign language and audibly, it's just about the cutest thing ever. When you do something bad, you tell on yourself and say, "bad bad!!" A lot of times if we ask you a question or say something to you respond by saying, "huh?" You have started repeating lots of phrases that you hear and saying full sentences (ish). Sometimes I feel like I'm playing some sort of charades with you, when you say funny things like "May-mees......waaaah!!" to tell me that Mason is crying. You know what you want to tell us, and you are frustrated when we don't understand.
We love you so much.
